Beyond Scream Queens – SDCC 2019

With both Halloween and Doctor Sleep both right around the corner, this seems like a perfect time to share one of Heroic Girls’ San Diego Comic-Con panels, Beyond Scream Queens: How Horror Roles Can Empower Women.

Our panel included: Alaina Huffman (Supernatural), Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep), Jocelin Donahue (Doctor Sleep, House of the Devil), Mali Elfman (Before I Wake) and Ruth Connell (Supernatural) — and was moderated by Heroic Girls founder John Marcotte.

The wide-ranging discussion covered horror, but also the importance of superhero films such as Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel, as well as the entire panel’s love of Lori Petty’s Tank Girl.

Watch the entire panel above. (Apologies for the video issues at the beginning, Video kicks in right after introductions. I promise.)

Video services provided by Jocks, Geeks and Nerds (Bex Francis and Matt Shapi).
