Heroic Girls offers regular workshops to the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California Council to help the scouts earn their “Comic Artist Badge.”
The Scouts learn comics theory from Heroic Girls staff and receive hands-on instruction from professional comics artists including Justin Greenwood (Stumptown) and Eisner Hall of Fame inductee Trina Robbins (Wonder Woman) as they create their very own three-panel comic.
The Scouts learn that they can tell any kind of story they want in comics, how comics function on the page and the importance of representation both on the page and in the creation of the media we consume.
