The Notorious RGB meets the fantastic L-E-G-O in the trailer for LEGO Movie 2, the sequel to the hit animated film. The movie features a gavel-wielding, robe-wearing Ruth Bader Ginsberg alongside fictional heroes such as Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman.
“These movies are so full of surprises. And we were thinking, ‘Who’s the last person you would think to see in a Lego film as a minifig?’ Ruth Bader Ginsburg!” director Mike Mitchell told USA Today. “And we’re all huge fans. It made us laugh to think of having her enter this world.”
Ginsberg made her debut in a trailer posted to Instagram leading up to the film’s February 8th release date.
While Ginsberg will not be providing the voice for her LEGO counterpart, she did giver her complete blessing to the project. Better yet, Mitchell confirmed that Ginsberg will eventually be available in one of the toy sets released for the movie.
“So there will be a real Ruth Bader Ginsburg toy that boys and girls can play with. It will even come with a gavel,” says Mitchell.
The LEGO Movie 2 opens nationwide on February 8th, 2019.
