At Heroic Girls, we spend our time empowering girls and young women, showing them that they are the heroes of their own stories. But recently, we ran into some real-life villains.
Our storage unit was broken into, and we were devastated to find that almost all of our outreach and event equipment was stolen.
What We Lost
This wasn’t just “stuff” to us. These were the essential tools we use to show up for our community at local farmers markets, comic book conventions, and neighborhood events:
- Our setup: Tables, organizing shelves, and our comic book display racks.
- Our gear: Our heat press machine (which we use to make the shirts and merchandise that fund our work).
- Our identity: Our custom, large “Heroic Girls” sign that lets kids know exactly where to find us.
Why This Hurts
We use this gear to connect directly with kids, run our interactive programming, and sell books. The proceeds from these events directly fund our initiatives—including our Women in Media Scholarship program.
Without this equipment, our ability to show up, raise funds, and inspire the next generation of creators is ground to a halt.
We need your help to rebuild. We are raising $2,000 to fully replace our lost equipment and get back out into the community.
