The Trailer for ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ is Here to Terrify You

The trailer for Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is here, and if anyone was concerned that they would sanitize the bloodsoaked gothic horror found in the  Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa-penned Archie Comic, they can sleep easy tonight — unless they actually watch the trailer. Then they’ll be sitting up in bed with all the lights on.

Like the blood-soaked gothic horror comic on which it is based, the show appears to focus on teenage witch Sabrina’s coming-of-age 16th birthday, where she will finally be given as a bride to her lord and master Satan. Complications arise in the form of Sabrina’s mortal boyfriend Harvey and Madam Satan — freshly returned from the pits of hell seeking vengeance on Sabrina for the sins of her father.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Debuts on Netflix October 26, 2018.

‘Incredibles 2’ Teaser Trailer Will Show in Front of ‘Coco’ (Probably)

From the moment the credits rolled at the end of the first Incredibles, fans have been clamoring for a sequel. It looks like that 13-year wait is about to pay off with a teaser trailer for Incredible 2 set to debut in front of the new Pixar film Coco.

Incredibles 2 trailer rating

While there has been no official announcement, the Ontario Film Authority rated a new trailer for Incredibles 2 on November 10th. So we know the trailer is close to arriving.

Incredibles 2 picks up immediately after the events of the first Incredibles, with the Parr family set to battle the evil Underminer, but a large chunk of the story will see Helen, a.k.a. Elastigir off on her own adventure while Bob remains at home to care for their son Jack-Jack.

Writer/Director Brad Bird introduced some footage from Incredibles 2 at Disney’s D23 Convention earlier this year. “It’s so great to be here to tell you about the film,” Bird said. “It’s fundamentally a story about family…with this new film, we’re excited to jump back into that world. We have controls able to do so much more than before.”

The clip was a scene where the baby of the family, Jack-Jack, battled a raccoon. Director Brad Bird told fans that Jack-Jack’s powers will be a major part of the new movie. “You the audience know that he has super powers but the family is unaware,” Bird said. “We’re having fun with that in the film.”

The Incredibles 2 hits theaters on June 15, 2018.

Homemade Wonder Woman

A Shot-For-Shot Recreation of the Wonder Woman Trailer with Zero Budget

The folks over at CineFix have created a remarkable shot-for-shot remake of the Wonder Woman trailer using  cardboard, duct tape and trash can lids as part of their “Homemade” video series. You can see it at the top of the page.

If you want to see how awe-inspiringly accurate the recreation is, check out this side-by-side comparison video.

While I don’t think there is a huge mystery about how they did anything here, it’s still pretty cool to see the process that they used to recreate the shots. Here’s a behind-the-scenes video showing how they made the home-brew trailer.

Cloak and Dagger

‘Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger’ Trailer Released

Freeform television has released the first trailer for the upcoming Cloak & Dagger television show based on the Marvel Comic of the same name.

In the comics, Tyrone “Ty” Johnson (Cloak) and Tandy Bowen (Dagger) are teenage runaways that met on the streets of New York. Ty ran away from home in Boston after his speech impediment prevented him from saving his friend, who was shot by police who mistakenly thought he had robbed a.store. Tandy ran away from Shaker Heights because her wealthy supermodel mother ignored her and she felt lonely and alone.

The teens were kidnapped by the “maggia,” the Marvel Universe’s version of the mafia, which used them as guinea pigs to test a new form of synthetic heroin. All the other test subjects died, but Ty’s body became nebulous and He wrapped himself in a primitive cloak to give his body shape. He body became a gateway to a dark dimension, and he could trap people there and feed on their life force.

Conversely, Tandy was able to manifest daggers made of solid light.that she could mentally direct. They drain people of their life vitality when they struck. The daggers could also cure people of certain drug addictions.

Additionally, Ty was consumed with a dark hunger that only the life-force of others, or the lightness that filled Tandy could satiate. The teens used their newfound powers to wage war on New York’s criminal underworld – particularly those engaged in the drug trade.

The trailer appears to have lost the ’80s “War on Drugs” origin for the teens, instead showing them as the victims of an industrial accident perpetrated by Roxxon, an evil multinational corporation in the Marvel Universe. It did appear that they teens were runaways, but it’s not clear how much more of their origins are intact.

We see Ty in the cloak and Tandy brandishing a dagger.of light. We will have to see if the duos powers  are the same as the comics, or if their abilities have been adapted in the same way that their origins have.

Cloak & Dagger premieres on Freeform in 2018.
