New ‘Marvel’s Runaways’ Trailer Has Powers and ‘Old Lace’

We loved Hulu’s first Runaways trailer, but like the recent trailer for The New Mutants movie, we were left wondering, “Are there superpowers in this superhero show?”

The second trailer gives us a definitive, “Yes.”

We see Molly (a.k.a. Princess Powerful) crushing a metal seat with her hand. Chase Stein is wearing his trademark x-ray specs (the “fistigons also make an appearance – but worn by his evil father Victor). Karolina Dean appears in her beautiful “rainbow” form. Nico Minoru has her hands on the “Staff of One” and damn it looks cool when it glows, and we even get a glimpse of Gertrude’s genetically modified telepathic dinosaur from the future, “Old Lace.”

I loved the comic Runaways, and I am hoping this show will live up to its predecessor.

Hulu is launching the first season of Marvel’s Runaways on Tuesday, November 21.

First Teaser Trailer for Marvel’s Runaways Drops

Right before a select few people get to see the sneak preview of the pilot at New York Comic Con, Hulu has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming adaptation of Marvel’s Runaways.

Like the comic book before it, the television series will focus on the six kids who discover that their parents are supervillains plotting to destroy the world. Stealing powerful items that unlock their hidden powers and abilities, the kids go on the run seeking to stop their parents’ evil schemes.

Marvel’s Runaways premieres on November 21s on Hulu.

Marvel Announces ‘Runaways’ Television Show on Hulu

Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage to write and showrun.

Marvel Television will be bringing the fan-favorite and ground breaking comic book series, “Runaways,” to popular streaming service, Hulu.

Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? MARVEL’S RUNAWAYS is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe – their parents.

“We’ve known the Runaways’ story would make great television,” said Jeph Loeb, EP and Head of Marvel Television, “and being lucky enough to have Josh and Stephanie — who have time and again created shows that speak so genuinely to this exact audience — write and produce the series is nothing short of remarkable.”

“I’m a long-time fan of Runaways and couldn’t be more excited to bring Brian and Adrian’s characters to life,” said Schwartz.

Adds Savage, “Josh and I can’t wait to get to work for Marvel and Hulu.”

“Marvel’s Runaways” for Hulu is based on the comic created by the award-winning team of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona.
