Marjorie Liu Makes History as First Woman to Win ‘Best Writer’ Eisner

Marjorie Liu (Monstress) became the first woman ever to win the Best Writer award at the Eisners — an honor that the writer herself was unaware of until hours after the event.

Monstress also picked up Best Continuing Series, and Best Series for Teens for Liu and artist Sana Takeda. While Takeda picked up awards for Best Painter/Multimedia Artist (interior art) and Best Cover Artist.
