‘Lumberjanes’ Movie Adds Director Emily Carmichael
Indie filmmaker Emily Carmichael has been added to the live-action adaptation of BOOM Studios Lumberjanes according to The Wrap.
Lumberjanes is a comic book series created by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Brooke A. Allen and Noelle Stevenson. The series is set at ‘Miss Quinzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types’ and follows the exploits of the Lumberjane scouts of the Roanoke cabin — Jo, April, Molly, Mal and Ripley as they battle supernatural forces.

Carmichael was most recently floated as a possible director for Marvel’s upcoming Captain Marvel big screen adaptation. She made a name for herself directing award-winning shorts including 2011’s The Hunter and the Swan Discuss Their Meeting and 2013’s RPG OKC.
