Captain Marvel Rumored for Avengers: Age of Ultron
Per the Latino Review Marvel has secretly cast the role of Captain Marvel, and the character will make a cameo at the end of the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron — most likely in her civilian identity of Carol Danvers.
On the one hand, this makes perfect sense. Marvel needs to introduce the character somewhere, and her job as an Air Force pilot and military liaison would allow her to fit in at the end of the movie when Captain America will reportedly be building a new team of Avengers without Tony Stark.
Latino Review goes on to say that Marvel has the basic plot of Captain Marvel “blocked out” and is looking for a writer to finish the script. Current Captain Marvel comics scribe Kelly Sue DeConnick wants the job, but has not secured it, yet.
Also original Captain Marvel creator Jim Starlin has been retained as a “creative consultant.” If true, this is the real head-scratcher as he has almost nothing to do with the character in her current incarnation.
Latino Review, the site that published the rumors occasionally breaks a big story like this. On the other hand, they are just dead wrong a pretty good chunk of the time as well, so take it all with a grain of salt.
Fun to think about, though. Isn’t it?
